Post 5: On the run.

(Note from Elizabeth: Anastasia was rumored to have escaped from the assassins who murdered her family, although DNA tests in 2009 confirmed that she was murdered in July 1918.)

I am again on the run with my family. The people's hatred of my father, Nicholas II, has not diminished. It is dangerous for us to go out. Recently, I opened my window to get fresh air and was shot at. Luckily, the bullet missed. We have packed our belongings and my sisters and I have sewn the family jewels into the linings of our gowns.
The cheka are now spying on people, so my family will have to make a quiet getaway. If they find us, they

Post 4: On the events of the October Revolution of 1917

1917
Remember how I was talking about the Petrograd Soviet and the Provisional Government in my last post? Recently, political power in Russia was divided among the two groups. The Provisional Government continued WWI (although I don't know why, since we kept losing anyways). The Bolsheviks (aka

Whoah, it's 1917 already! Sorry for not updating the blog for 12 years. I got a little caught up in things.
So anyways, after the revolution in 1905, Russia's economy just kept getting worse and worse. Food prices

Post 2: On the events of the Revolution of 1905

1905
So finally in 1905, the people of Russia rose up and called for reform because basically everything about their lives sucked. However, although they called for reform, they still supported Tsar Nicholas II because to be honest, even though he wasn't the best leader, he was still the best leader Russia had had in a long time. No one wanted to boot him off the throne yet because they were scared that if he did, he might be replaced with an even worse leader.
The Revolution of 1905 started with Bloody Sunday. The factories were temporarily shut down because

Post 1: On Russian politics and life.

1904
Before the Revolutionary period Russian government basically wanted people to believe that our government was the best. Which was a total lie. I mean, we were losing practically all the battles. We were losing so much that the soldiers didn't even want to fight anymore. Which was, of course, not so good for my dad, Tsar Nicholas II. The Russian serfs (basically farmers and peasants), socialists, and intellectuals hated Dad because his ways of controlling the citizens of Russia were unconventional. The workers unions demanded more rights and serfs revolted against their landowners. To make matters worse, everyone hated Rasputin, who I thought was actually pretty chill. (Until I caught him sleeping around with practically everyone in our house, but that's asides from the point I'm making). Rasputin looked like a hobo who had a dead cat on his face, but all the chicks still wanted him. So everyone hated him, and they blamed everything on poor Dad.
creeper! lmao
